NOW, The winning story........
Hello, my name is Ashley!!!! I have a cat
named Buttons. He is a HERO!!!! Because a dog was
attacking me and I was only 1 year old. It all
began at a family picknic, the dogs name was Spot.
All of a sudden it just attacked me and my mom
and dad could not get it of me. So Buttons came
running towards the Spot and scratched his eye!!!
Spot ran off and my mom took me to the hosptle
and my face was torn to pieces, so I ended up
geting 53 stiches in my face!!! I mainly had
stitches near my right eye. The doctor said I was
1 inch away from geting a glass eye!!! But thanks
to Buttons I am still as pretty as I was before
the dog attacked me.
I am now 12 years old and I still have my cat
Buttons!!! I love Buttons so much. He will always
be my #1 HERO!!!!!!!! But if you ask me this cat
defintally has what it takes!!!!!!!!

gift from my dadıs siosters and God. I hope you
enjoy the eagle, they are my dadıs favourite. He
collects figures of them, which is where I got my
drawing.

What colors make up white and what
colors make up black, and what colors do you mix
to get new colors? Are their in web sites where
we can find out about this stuff.
Lonnie, age 8
Our answer is that....Colours are wonderful
but also work on science. White is a noncolour as
it reflects all colours while black absorbs. You
can mix colours as an experiment for fun. Like
red + blue = violet, blue + yellow = green,
yellow + red = orange. Colour wheels help in
deciding by mixing what colours together will
create a new colour. It is mor fun to experiment.
Try mixing small dots of paint yourself. See what
new ones you come up with!

Hi, My name is Elizabeth, I am
10 years old and I am homeschooled. I don't know
if I want to be an artist when I grow up, but I
do know that I enjoy to draw and paint. I like to
draw things like clothes, People (or peoples
faces) and houses. I also enjoy drawing flowers
and animals, but I am not very good at drawing
animals. I love to write and create things,
actually that is one of my favorite things to do.
I think your site is great and I think it might
help me. Thank you, 6th grader.
Elizabeth, age 10

Art Tips
- Make sure you clean up
your brushes with warm soapy water, rinse
and shape the end into a a tip and dry
upright in a jar after each use. They
will last longer.
- When drawing try to look
at the object you are drawing and look at
its shape and how the light falls on it
to make dark and light areas. By looking
at nature and observing, we become better
artists.
- Use a sharp pencil when
drawing. It will give a more professional
finished look.
- Wear old clothing or a big
old shirt over our good clothes when
painting. This lets us be more free and
creative without thinking about the mess
we made. And helps with clean-up and mom
with the laundry.
